NEEC Offers BOC Training to IFMA Members May 24, 2022 May 24, 2022 – Houston, Texas, USA – The Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) has added course offerings to its strategic partner agreement with the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). IFMA members are now able to participate in the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program at a discounted rate. The strategic partner program provides training in areas that fall under the umbrella of FM responsibility, such as energy efficiency. NEEC is one of six partner organizations offering IFMA members access to the industry’s top courses and programs. IFMA members who purchase Building Operator Certification courses from NEEC will receive the member rate. Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations lays a foundation for individuals to pursue an advanced career pathway focused on energy efficient building operations. The course includes seven parts that can be delivered over three full-day classes when delivered in person and has been adapted to six half-day classes for virtual delivery. Level I classes support the BOC operator skill standard by devoting significant content to the topics of HVAC controls, common opportunities for operational improvements and building scoping for energy efficiency. The Level I course series provides building operators with knowledge and skill enhancement in the key activities associated with energy efficient building operations. BOC Level II coursework prepares building operators to evaluate the operational performance of their buildings with a focus on improving energy efficiency. Through their project assignments, operators learn how to collect and analyze building data to prepare a building walk-through plan to identify opportunities to improve performance. Optimizing HVAC control systems for energy efficiency is highlighted with an emphasis on equipment sequence of operation and functional testing. Reciprocally, NEEC members receive special pricing for the globally recognized, ANSI-accredited courses IFMA is offering through the strategic partner program. Whether new to facility management, transitioning into an FM role or learning more about a specific topic, IFMA’s courses will help NEEC members expand their knowledge of key concepts needed for greater success in FM. IFMA is including the Essentials of Facility Management series and seven of IFMA’s Core Competency courses to organizational partners. "Whether you’re a facilities professional with decades of experience, or someone new to the field, we all benefit from streamlined career pathways and access to professional development and credentials related to the important work of maintaining and managing our buildings.
